Well it doesn't have to be the *first* chapter - one or even two to establish the protagonist and get things set up is fine, for me, but getting through a third of the book with no casualties is stretching the definition of the genre to my way of thinking! :)

Same here. I keep trying to remember to come back to DW and LJ but most of my social media-ing is on Facebook these days. But there are several folk over here in journal land that don't have seconfd homes at FB, so I try to keep a foot in both camps :)
Yeah. I have a Facebook account and I go there occasionally, mostly when required for participation in some real-life group that uses it for communication.
Twitter has been my social media platform of choice for a couple of years, but politics in the last three months has made it too toxic. I broke up with it about five days ago and you wouldn't believe how much I'm getting done! Including reading my friendslist for a change. :D
